Michael Gullickson

Michael Gullickson

President

As President of Valor Contracting, Michael Gullickson applies over 15 years of experience in directing the company’s growth, focusing on business development, operational efficiency and organizational structure. Gullickson has worked with nationwide clients, including PepsiCo/Frito-Lay, Coca-Cola, Johnson Brothers, Sign Solutions USA, PRx Performance, and ABF Freight, and has led over 2,000,000 square feet of new construction projects in the past five years.

Under his leadership, Valor Contracting has become a market-leading industrial general contractor whose proven construction skills and prioritization of understanding client needs, budget and schedule have established them as an award-winning and nationally recognized builder.

Valor’s large-scale and innovative industrial build projects have been recognized by the ND Ready Mix & Concrete Products Association, Tilt-Up Today magazine and Varco Pruden. Valor also secured a spot on the 2025 Top Metal Builders list out of 100 companies nationwide.

From pre-engineered metal to tilt-up concrete, Gullickson and the Valor team are renowned for deploying the most advanced build methods to meet timelines, provide cost savings, and promote durability and flexibility to suit each client’s needs.

Vice President of Construction

With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Jesse South brings a wealth of expertise in leading complex, high-stakes projects across the hospitality, commercial, entertainment and industrial sectors. His career began with managing intricate scopes, including exterior envelope systems and themed architectural features, which laid the groundwork for overseeing all aspects of project execution. In total, South has directly managed and overseen the construction and renovation of over 6,100,000 square feet of projects.

Since joining Valor in 2021, South has directly managed more than 30 Midwest industrial projects, including agricultural, manufacturing and distribution facilities, demonstrating a keen ability to deliver on accelerated schedules that align with operational needs. His leadership ensures that projects meet stringent quality, schedule and design requirements.

In collaboration with globally recognized clients such as MGM, Wynn, Disney, Simplot and Zappos, South has consistently translated his extensive experience in large, fast-paced projects into innovative solutions for demanding industrial applications. He excels in fostering relationships built on trust and accountability while ensuring meticulous attention to detail throughout the entire project lifecycle.

His commitment to professional growth and passion for innovation actively contribute to shaping best practices at Valor Contracting, reinforcing its reputation as a nationally recognized industrial builder renowned for its ability to scale, mitigate risks, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
